What was God thinking when He created man?

When God creates the first humans--Adam and Eve--they exist in a state of perfect spiritual communion with the Father. Satan tricks these pure individuals into committing the first sin. This causes them to immediately move away from that true spirituality that God had in mind when He designed them. The Old Testament is filled with God's efforts to restore spirituality to His people and the repeated, Satan-originated conflicts to try to thwart this.

In Jesus Restores True Spirituality: Understanding Satan's Subtle Schemes to Hamper the Testimony of Christ's People, his companion book to the Old Testament-oriented Created to be Spiritual, pastor and retired missionary Joe E. Tarry demonstrates how God sends His Son to live out in perfection a model of all God intends for us to be.

Walking the reader through key New Testament events from the Messiah's birth through Revelation, Joe shows how the enemy uses strategies to try to darken Christ's brilliance as the Light of the World. The book challenges us to exalt Christ over Satan and to make Jesus' lifestyle our goal.

Joe E. Tarry was born near Lovington, NM, in 1935. He graduated with a double major and received a bachelor of arts in religion and history from Eastern New Mexico University and a master of divinity from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Leona, are retired missionaries and live in Ruidoso, NM. His first book, Did Paul Approve of the Tongues Spoken in Corinth?, explores 1 and 2 Corinthians and Paul’s conclusions about the practice of speaking in tongues. Tarry’s second book,
Created to be Spiritual: Understanding God’s daily battle with Satan for the hearts and minds of His people, he explains story after dramatic story in the Old Testament to show how Satan tries to undermine the spiritual growth of believers.
